CONCEPT::Point of non existence.

Three drawings on three consecutive days at public transport interchange in central London.

The anonymity (point of non existence) during times of personal transition from one place to another via mass channels of movement has become a fixation for society in its desire to monitor movement.

In three specific hand/eye drawings the point of non existence is transferred to a tangible record of movement in the act of drawing. The drawing is in marked contrast to the electronic cctv image that also desires to track the point of non existence for different reasons.

Andrew Smith Statement

With these new screenprints I am exploring the intensity of fluorescent colours in a unique (non editioned) series. Spatial concerns are pushed to the limits as the new space in front of the paper is activated by the intensity and vibrancy of full saturation.
Andrew works in north Wales where his studio captures the light of Tremadog Bay. He has worked and exhibited in different regions and contexts and is interested in the cultural context of where art is presented and made as part of the ongoing process of visual communication.
